Biography

After spending seven years in the photo industry as a fashion stylist, my passion for storytelling and imagery grew exponentially. I found myself in a place where the need to relay my own truth through pictures felt essential and photographing became my joy and consequently, my burgeoning profession. Since that time, most of my efforts have been focused on examining what it is that I want to photograph and precisely which story that I choose to share with the world. As it is with most things, what we plan and what we find are often different and as a result, stories are being told to me in a way that I never expected. For the past few years, I have found a new appreciation for the quiet behind the camera and I have learned to listen to the stories that are being told to me. My job, for now, is to be a translator of that truth-- whatever that truth may be. My one hope is that my images feel real, make people feel seen and understood and move those that choose to see them. I want for them to be simple and beautiful and to tell the truth. And what I have found is that the "simple" task of truth telling has been the most challenging of my life.

For now, I am committed to the journey that I am traveling and I am sure of only one thing and that is that my camera has become my best friend--my language and my truth and for that I am eternally grateful and perpetually devoted.
